If you are exploring Mount Oe in Onimusha: Way of the Sword and keep running into locked cave doors, you’ll need the Dungeon Key to open them. You’ll find many locked doors during The Demon on the Mount quest, where Musashi is searching for a way to help a villager trapped inside the cave.
At first, there is no obvious way through the dungeon, and the objective marker can make it seem like the villager is directly behind one of the inaccessible doors. This guide explains how you can save the villager and get the Dungeon Key to open the locked cave doors at Mount Oe in Onimusha: Way of the Sword.
When first entering the cave at Mount Oe, it is easy to assume that the locked doors are blocking the intended route. They cannot be opened immediately. So, instead of repeatedly checking the doors, continue deeper into the cave.
As exploration continues, look for green and yellow trails running along the walls of the cave. These markings indicate where Musashi can use his Oni Power to move across the walls.
Activate Oni Power and follow the marked path. The cave passage becomes narrow, so movement can feel slightly awkward at first. Pay close attention to the walls ahead because there are sections where spikes emerge from the cave wall.
When a set of spikes appears in Musashi's path, jump across to the opposite wall. Continue moving along that wall until another obstacle requires another jump.
Keep watching the opposite wall while moving. The spikes can make it dangerous to remain on one side for too long, and jumping early gives more room to react.
Continue through the narrow passage, moving from one wall to the other whenever necessary. Eventually, you’ll hear Musashi saying that he heard a voice. This indicates that the villager is nearby.
