After announcing that a demo for the Lollipop Chainsaw sequel would appear at Tokyo Game Show 2026, Dragami Games, Nada Holdings, and the PlayStation Blog revealed Lollipop Chainsaw 2 Back2Back at the event. The game will appear in 2027 for the PS5, with no other release platforms currently announced.
While Dragami Games and Nada Holdings are in charge of publishing the sequel, Lollipop Chainsaw 2 Back2Back is being developed by JP Universe. Final Fantasy XV Director Hajime Tabata founded the studio back in 2022, when it was originally known as JP Games.
Masahiro Yuki who co-wrote the Lollipop Chainsaw script alongside James Gunn will return for the sequel, although it seems like James Gunn himself won’t be back this time around. Additionally, artist NekoshowguN is back in charge of the character designs and art for the sequel.

Lollipop Chainsaw originally released in 2012 for PS3 and Xbox 360, and was developed as a collaboration between Grasshopper Manufacture’s Suda51 and filmmaker James Gunn. The game received a remaster under the title of Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP which released in September 2024 for Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. The remaster later appeared on PS4 and Xbox One on December 2024, and a Switch 2 version released on May 2026.
Lollipop Chainsaw 2 Back2Back is currently in development and will release on 2027 for the PlayStation 5. We still don’t know if the sequel will appear on other platforms.
