As a Civilian, your job is to keep the Residents safe. But with so many Civilians to choose from, which one is the best pick? Here is a meta tier list ranking every Civilian in Halloween: The Game.
By far the best all round pick. Laurie comes with exceptional traits. Spacial Awareness allows you to keep track of Residents when calm, Knockout increases the time Michael is down for, and Revenge allows you to deal more damage to Michael with every Resident killed. She is arguably the best Civilian for safeguarding Residents and aiding in taking down Michael, but she also comes with great Personality too.
Bob Simms is by far the best Civilian for players looking to take down Michael. With the Heavy Weight Trait, Bob can become drunk and gain all the positive effects with few of the negatives, along with getting a massive buff to melee damage. Since you can choose a Beer Can as your starting item, this makes Bob relatively overpowered against Michael in the early game, especially if several players choose him, and if you take on Michael before he reaches Tier 3 Bloodthirst.
Alexis' following traits make her a strong candidate: Popular makes followers take less damage and fear, along with making them more aggressive at defending against Michael, Panic Contagion increases movement speed by getting Residents to escape, and Smooth Talker makes scoring perfect on the dispatch call much easier. She's great for teams looking to buff their residents or increase the Police presence in Haddonfield early via 911 calls, and her Personality level is especially high.
An excellent option for those looking to debuff Michael. Rachel's Traits are as follows: Full Moon increases the loss of Michael's Bloodthirst when downed, Aura of Awareness increases the prevention radius of Michael's Shape Jump, essentially making it harder for him to spawn on top of you, and Sixth Sense allows you to hear Michael's breathing in Shape Jump from up to 2 meters away. Michael can counter Aura of Awareness with Reality Tear, however. Rachel also has a high level of Capability and Resourcefulness, making her a valuable addition.
Jennifer is a solid pick for those who want to stay out of Michael's way and also counter his Stalk and Bloodthirst abilities. She has a high level of Athleticism and Resourcefulness, but also comes with solid Traits. Dreamer and Ghost directly counter Stalk against herself and Residents, making it harder for Michael to rack up Bloodthirst. When terrified, Jennifer also deals increased melee damage against Michael, which can come in handy when being hunted.
Thomas is a strong pick for both his high Personality and Athleticism alone, but his Traits make him a good all-around pick for a bunch of situations. For starters, Thomas can increase Resident health by telling them to hide, and also buffs doors he locks, making him good for keeping Residents alive and Michael at bay. Thomas can also directly reduce his own Stalk by looking at or attacking Michael, while most other Civilians simply have to break contact or hide from Michael instead.
An all-around great option for repairs and a strong solo option. When last alive, Marcus gets a massive buff by highlighting key Escape items and the CB Radio, while also making talking and interactions far smoother. Marcus is also the only Civilian capable of picking locked doors and has an increased chance of not consuming a Repair Kit upon use. Marcus is essentially a team's best bet at turning the game around if things go south.
