Today, during Gamescom Opening Night Live , NetEase showed off new gameplay for Ananta, its upcoming open-world anime action-adventure. The trailer featured multiple cityscapes, a January 15 release date, and ... internet memes? Indeed, the gameplay was highlighted by multiple references to internet jokes and slang, including the Gatsby lifting glass meme, the Dragon Ball Z "Yamcha death" meme, and the main hero being called the "yeetmaster." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MM60juTPkSM&pp=ygUGYW5hbnRh0gcJCRMMAYcqIYzv Outside of the jokes, the three-minute trailer showed both Nova City and Lingyun City, the two open areas that will make up Ananta's setting. We see traversal via flying car, motorbike, skateboard, and more as the "yeetmaster" meets multiple characters and get into some close calls while traveling through both cities. Ananta will see players take the role of a single influncer with the goal of saving the world by "going viral." The influencer will meet over 100 characters throughout the quest, each with their own individual questlines, and some can be recruited as allies along the way.
