On September 6, 2026, the One Piece manga marked its return from a 2-week-long break with chapter 1192. Over the last 2 months, One Piece has endured quite a difficult release schedule, with a break between nearly every 2 chapters. This pattern was broken with the release of One Piece chapter 1192, which is now officially going to be followed up with One Piece Chapter 1193 on September 13, 2026, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #42.
However, One Piece has another hectic break schedule coming, which the fans need to prepare for. After the release of One Piece chapter 1193, Eiichiro Oda and the One Piece manga will be headed for another break. Sad as that might be for fans to hear, the manga is set to return later this month, but only to be followed by yet another break immediately afterwards.
With Jump having recently gone on break for the Obon Festival, many fans might be confused as to how it's going on another break so soon. The reason behind this is simple: 2026 is an anomaly when it comes to Jump breaks. It is very uncommon for there to be a Jump break in the month of September, but that said, it isn't unheard of. This year's September will see Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issues 42 and 43 being published together due to multiple holidays coinciding in Japan at the same time. September 21, 22, and 23 are stated to be national holidays in Japan, while September 19 is a non-distribution day, according to the Japan Magazine Publishers Association. This means that there is not going to be enough time for distribution of the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, leading to a very rare Double Issue being published on September 13.
As such, immediately after the release of One Piece chapter 1193, which is set to be published in the upcoming Jump Double Issue #42-43, One Piece is going to be headed for another 2-week-long break, sad as that might be. As is the case with all Jump breaks, it is only going to last for 2 weeks, which means One Piece is going to return on September 27, 2026, in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #44.
While One Piece makes its return with chapter 1193 on September 27, 2026, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #44, this chapter is also going to be rather frustrating for the fans because it is going to be followed by yet another break, this time by the author Eiichiro Oda. This is simply because Oda's own schedule is to release three manga chapters in a row, followed by a break. One Piece chapter 1192 was the first chapter that Oda dropped after his own break. This chapter was followed by chapter 1193 on September 13, and then 1194 on September 27, 2026. These three chapters complete Oda's three-chapter release schedule, meaning the author will head on a break immediately after.
For added context, Eiichiro Oda never counts Jump breaks towards his own break schedule. In other words, every single Jump break counts as its own thing, while Oda's schedule of a break after every three chapters is maintained, even if the release is interrupted with a Jump break in between. This means that even though there is a Jump break between chapter 1193 and chapter 1194, Oda counts them as successive releases. In other words, his own break is going to come after the release of chapter 1194 on September 27, 2026, marking it the last chapter that fans will get in this month. One Piece is then going to return in October, specifically on October 11, 2026. Following the release of chapter 1194, One Piece is expected to go on a run of three chapters before another break from the author Eiichiro Oda hits. On the bright side, there do not appear to be any more Jump breaks for the foreseeable future after One Piece 1194, so the Elbaf arc will continue its release uninterrupted unless unforeseen circumstances interrupt Oda's schedule.
