After making your way to the Underpass during the Recursions and Iterations mission, you can explore the region with its shifting terrain. As you do, a vision of Jesse will appear in the distance, and the Underpass Fault quest will be added to your logs.
Even though you have a main quest active, since that one is pretty long, you can track this one first and make your way to the west of the region to progress it. The guide below offers a complete walkthrough of the quest in Control Resonant.
Upon arriving at the large search zone, deal with the Mold enemies around the area and go to the lower level to eventually find a small entrance with a save point nearby. Go down further and deal with the next group of enemies to open the blocked path on your left. Keep going forward and interact with the TV up ahead.
This fault segment is different from the ones you have already completed so far. At the start, you need to go through the linear path while Dylan tries to remember more about his past. When you reach the point where you see two glowing silhouettes on the wall, you will need to take them to the right.
When you see your parents' silhouettes up ahead, do not jump and go towards them. This is because you still need to guide the silhouette on the side. Take the left path, leading them to the parents.
After this, follow the linear path again until you spot the silhouette up ahead. Guide the silhouette to the middle, then take the left path and bring the other silhouette to the middle. You will need to use the Shift ability for the silhouette on the left. Try to keep an eye on the silhouette at all times because if you jump around corners, the silhouette won’t follow.
After this, you will have to play through another linear section, completing the Fault quest and rewarding you with a Living Shard.
