Kingdom Hearts Seemingly Coming To Fortnite Next Update

Kingdom Hearts Seemingly Coming To Fortnite Next Update

A reliable Fortnite insider has discovered that the game's files were recently updated to make room for the Kingdom Hearts collaboration, suggesting it’s next up.

Fortnite’s big Gaming Legends season, better known as Override, kicked off just over a week ago, and it’s fair to say it was a bit of an underwhelming start. Sonic was the only real crossover in the first week, with every other included gaming series being saved for an unknown date in the Item Shop, potentially making it a very expensive season for gamers.

Since then, things have got a little better thanks to the arrival of Crash and Spyro a few days ago, but anyone wanting Persona, Mega Man, Pac-Man, and more has been left waiting around. Easily the most anticipated collab of the bunch, Kingdom Hearts, seemed like it might be the furthest out, but that might not be the case after all.

Ever since Fortnite fans realised that we’d be getting another of the promised crossovers every other week or so, I think most assumed that Persona or Mega Man was next in line. After all, Mega-Man’s Mega Buster is already in the game, and Persona was one of the most rumoured and first confirmed of the bunch.

As pointed out by thegamersjoint on Twitter, though, it might actually be Kingdom Hearts that’s coming next. Reliable Fortnite insider SamLeakss pointed out that the previously leaked Kingdom Hearts car cosmetics for Rocket League have recently been marked as “cross-game”, suggesting that they’re ready to go in both Fortnite and Rocket League.

SamLeakss points out that this means the collab should drop in the “next update” as long as there are no last-minute delays. That does happen fairly often in Fortnite, but since the Kingdom Hearts crossover has already been confirmed, there’s a decent chance that it won’t be pushed back and could arrive by September 3.

This came as quite a surprise to me, as Kingdom Hearts seemed like one of the very last collabs we’d be getting in Override. So far, we’ve only seen a glimpse of Sora in the key art and heard a little about the Kingdom Key Mythic he’ll be bringing over, while many of the other collabs have actually been shown in-game.

I guess it’s not long until we find out if Sora will be coming to The Island alone or if he’s bringing Riku, Kairi, Roxas, or anyone else. I’m also praying we get a few edit options for his outfit so it’s not just the KH2 look.
