An upcoming Steam game is going viral by combining GTA-style crime with 1970s Istanbul and kebab deliveries.
ALATURKA is an open-world action game from developer Bufuak, dropping players into the fictional city of Bosforus with little money.
According to its Steam page, players arrive in Bosforus from a small village hoping to earn enough money to build a new life.
That starts with considerably more ordinary work than stealing cars. Players can take jobs making kebabs and making deliveries around the city, but legitimate employment isn’t the only option.
Smuggling and other illegal jobs offer another way to make money, bringing police and local gangs into the equation if things go wrong.
The city is filled with bulky 1970s cars designed around deliberately heavy driving physics, whether you’re making a delivery or trying to escape the cops.

There are plenty of smaller distractions scattered around the city. Players can throw simit (a type of bread) to seagulls, chase pigeons, feed stray cats, and, for reasons the Steam page doesn’t elaborate on, beat up an ice cream man.
