A master LEGO builder managed to turn the 3-in-1 Sea Animals: Beautiful Dolphin set into a custom build featuring Pokemon's Articuno and Omanyte without additional pieces. One of the great perks of collecting LEGO is that fans can follow the instructions in the box to build what the Danish company envisioned or go off the beaten path and make something entirely new from scratch. All LEGO sets can be transformed into something entirely different, and all it takes to make custom builds is some imagination.
Since LEGO has some truly remarkable builds, fans were excited to see what the collaboration with Pokemon would yield. After two waves of sets this year, more LEGO Pokemon sets have been leaked for 2027, possibly being revealed or released on Pokemon Day next year. Still, with over 1,000 Pokemon in the franchise, it can take a very long time before all of them are featured in LEGO sets, if that ever happens. As such, those who have favorites that are yet to be part of official kits can use their creativity to make them from scratch.
Renowned Reddit user and LEGO builder Minute_Food_2881 shareda custom build of Articuno and Omanyte from Pokemon in a marine environment, made entirely from pieces from the LEGO Creator 3-in-1 Sea Animals: Beautiful Dolphins set. Articuno and Omanyte are both Gen 1 Pokemon, so this build is great for those who are nostalgic for Kanto. Normally, the Beautiful Dolphin set features a seahorse, a dolphin, and a crab, with interchangeable pieces that allow fans to build any of the three creatures. Minute_Food_2881 used a base similar to the dolphin's, complete with seafloor, seaweeds, and a wave for Articuno to sit on.
Omanyte is placed on a transparent positioning stick, making it seem like it's swimming underwater. Articuno seems to be made from the main pieces to build the three sea creatures, but its beak and feet are seemingly from the sandy seafloor used for the dolphin, and Articuno's tail is made from the seaweed coming with the seahorse build. The sand-like pieces are also used to make Omanyte's helix shell, whereas the body comes from the set's waves. This is not the first time the set has been used to make Pokemon, though, as another fan transformed LEGO's 3-in-1 Beautiful Dolphins set into Pokemon's Dratini a few months ago.

The build is already available for purchase on Rebrickable with custom instructions, showing that the critters can also be removed from the base. Minute_Food_2881's latest build is another clear example of their incredible creativity, further demonstrating love for Pokemon and LEGO alike. In the past, the builder transformed LEGO Pokemon's Eevee into Pinsir, and before that, even Bidoof, both with great accuracy.
Recently, Minute_Food_2881 also turned LEGO's Halloween Pumpkin set into Charmander, using the build's lantern piece as the critter's fiery tail. This proves that virtually anything from LEGO can be assembled as Pokemon, as well as any other landscape, character, or creature from different franchises.
