It's always exciting when a new Final Fantasy release is just around the corner. Now, Square Enix has officially announced Final Fantasy 9: A Place to Call Home, giving long-time fans something new to look forward to later this year.
Even amongst the incredible Final Fantasy franchise, FF9 stands out as one of Square's best efforts. Well over two decades after its initial release, it is widely considered to be one of the best RPGs of all time, and can still be enjoyed despite its age. A 2016 remaster was released, bringing some minor modern improvements to the classic experience.
Square Enix has officially unveiled pre-orders for a new Final Fantasy 9 collectible music box named A Place to Call Home. The small collectible features the game's logo on the front and measures 5.99 x 5.3 x 3.98 cm, making it a small addition to any Final Fantasy collection. It costs £24.99 ($28.99) to pre-order, so it's pretty cheap to pick up, especially when compared to a lot of gaming collectibles nowadays.

The music box plays the A Place to Call Home track from Final Fantasy 9's original soundtrack, one of the game's main themes that plays throughout. Pre-orders state that it's expected to arrive in October 2026, meaning it's just around the corner. The collectible is part of a wide collection of Final Fantasy music boxes across multiple games, which are intended to "evoke beloved memories of the series."
