Goku and Vegeta's rivalry has not only helped define Dragon Ball for years, it's defined shonen anime as a genre. Goku and Vegeta's relationship has inspired countless manga and anime rivalries over the years. The two Saiyans are not only influential, they're perhaps the single most iconic pair of rivals in anime history. Nothing lasts forever, though, and Dragon Ball is moving on from Goku VS Vegeta once and for all.
In Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero and the Dragon Ball Super manga's Super Hero Saga, Goku and Vegeta spend the entire movie/story arc locked in a battle in order to finally settle who's strongest. Neither Goku or Vegeta are allowed to transform, making this a purely skill-based fight. The winner has to not only be stronger, but more talented. Dragon Ball Super 2 will adapt Goku and Vegeta's final battle, bringing a decades-long rivalry to a close for hundreds of millions of fans worldwide.
When it comes down to it, Vegeta wins his last battle with Goku. They'll more than likely fight again before Dragon Ball Super ends, but Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero features the final Goku VS Vegeta fight written by Akira Toriyama. Shockingly, Vegeta won. Vegeta has technically beaten Goku all three times they've fought in canon, but he never considered their first two battles wins. In the first, Goku had a higher Power Level thanks to Kaioken, and in the second, Goku kept Super Saiyan 3 a secret the whole time.

The Super Hero Saga marks the first time that Vegeta defeats Goku legitimately. Moving forward, their rivalry is done, especially now that the Dragon Ball Super manga is telling the story primarily from Gohan's perspective. Goku wasn't even the point of view character in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 104. There's a real chance Goku might not be the main character anymore in the Black Frieza Saga, and virtually no chance the series will give his rivalry with Vegeta any more focus, or grant Goku the chance to redeem his loss. Vegeta won, and it's over.
Both in and out of universe, Dragon Ball is moving on from Goku and Vegeta's rivalry. Vegeta himself jokingly comments on the fact he beat Goku in the Dragon Ball Super manga, before directing his attention to stronger prospects. Vegeta's now more interested in fighting Broly and Gohan, who have quickly surpassed Goku and Vegeta thanks to their all-powerful new transformations. Narratively, Goku hasn't been interested in his rivalry with Vegeta in ages. He's more focused on improving Ultra Instinct and training under Whis.
Similarly, Vegeta's main goal is to master Ultra Ego and Hakai as Beerus' disciple. Meanwhile, Piccolo, Broly, and Gohan have all grown strong enough to rival Dragon Ball Super's two main Saiyans, shaking up the main character hierarchy considerably and giving them new rivalries to contend with. Dragon Ball Super wrapping up Goku and Vegeta's rivalry frees up the story to focus on different, more interesting character pairings, relationships, and dynamics, while allowing Goku and Vegeta to take their friendship in a new direction as the series heads into End of Z territory.
