Steel is the most advanced material in Graveyard Keeper 2 and is required for the later part of the Metallurgy Tech Tree. Steel Ingots can be used to craft better tools, weapons, and armor, while building pieces such as Steel Screws and Engineering Details are required to get the most out of your factory. There's only one way to get Steel Ingots in Graveyard Keeper 2, and unlike other Ingots, they are not forged in a furnace or smithy, but instead bought from monks at the Royal Foundry. While this may sound simple, reaching the Royal Foundry can take a while.
Steel Ingots can be bought from the Bishop at the Royal Foundry. They have a set cost, not rising with demand, and the foundry has an unlimited supply of steel.
Each Steel Ingot costs 1 Silver Coin. They can be bought in bulk at the following prices:
Thankfully, there is a Waypoint in the foundry, unlocked the first time you go there. Use this to fast-travel from your base, making Steel Ingots one of the easiest resources to acquire after finally reaching the Royal Foundry.
You'll want to get your factory up and running to supply the town with goods, earning yourself enough money to afford plenty of Steel Ingots.
There's only one way to reach the Royal Foundry, and that is through the sewers, but as these are overrun with hordes of the undead, you'll have to complete many of Graveyard Keeper 2's battles.
The required battles aren't just near the sewers, but on both sides of the town. You may need to talk to the commander, Herbert, in the barracks to unlock some of these battles, or Jack at his workshop.
