You can get the Astronomer’s Hat free DLC item for Hogwarts Legacy by downloading the special add-on from the shop. If you’re unsure how to make this happen, here’s a full breakdown of the entire process.
The Astronomer’s Hat will be added to your inventory as soon as you open Hogwarts Legacy for the first time after grabbing the special free DLC. As long as you see a pop-up letting you know you’ve unlocked it upon loading in, you’re good to go.
To equip this item on your character right away, open the Gear page, hover over the headwear item you have on, and press the button next to the “change appearance” option. Then, scroll through the headwear you have until you find the Astronomer’s Hat. It’s located in the top section called “Collections.”
You can find and redeem the free Astronomer’s Hat DLC from the shop anytime from Aug. 31 to Sept. 30, 2026. As of the time of writing, it’s unclear whether this item will be removed from the shop entirely or instead become a paid asset once the free redemption period ends. Regardless, you’ll want to obtain it as soon as possible to ensure you unlock it forever for free.
