Ahead of the game's launch, The Coalition outlines its post-launch plans for Gears of War: E-Day, giving fans a glimpse at the upcoming 2 seasons and more. While Gears 5 may have left fans hanging with its cliffhanger ending, many were surprised to see The Coalition's next entry veer completely into different territory. Gears of War: E-Day takes players back to the beginning to experience the horrors of Emergence Day.
Ahead of the early access period for Gears of War: E-Day, The Coalition outlined its plans for how the game will continue to evolve after it officially launches on October 6. Two seasons have already been planned well ahead of time, with Season 1 starting right alongside the Early Access period that kicks off on October 1. Known as Emergence, Season 1 runs for a full 8 weeks, coming to a close on December 1. Season 1 will have 3 special limited time events, including both Halloween and "Thanksgibbing" themed activities. The Coalition promises more information as the events get closer, but provided additional dates to note:
However, longtime fans will likely be interested in the 20 Years of Gears event, which appears to be a major piece of Season 2 known as Legacy. The Coalition calls this season a "love letter to the franchise" and its players, with plenty of new content inspired by iconic moments. Although Season 2 won't be launching until December, the developer will have a special gift for all players on November 7, the actual anniversary date for the franchise. The post also went on to reveal the names of the next 3 seasons beyond that, from Infiltration and Pendulum, to Season 5's Devotion. No additional details were provided, however.
