Magic: The Gathering's upcoming Reality Fracture expansion has a feature that collectors of the game will love, making it easier than ever to assemble the game's most iconic characters. The final in-universe Magic set of the year serves as the culmination of a three-year story arc.
Reality Fracture is primed to be one of the most important Magic sets in recent years. The set centers on the alternate Echoverse created by fan-favorite planeswalker Jace to re-imagine a world without some of the Magic universe's greatest tragedies. The story of Reality Fracture will bring back many of the game's most beloved characters, pitting planeswalkers like Ajani and Chandra against alternate-universe versions of themselves with clashing color identities. Now, Wizards of the Coast has revealed a special perk in Reality Fracture packs, perfect for fans who want to collect all the different characters.
Magic: The Gathering has officially revealed a special perk for packs of the TCG's next set. Each original character and its alternate-universe counterpart will officially be grouped together in booster packs of the set, meaning that if fans pull one version of Liliana from a pack, the other will also be included. The change was confirmed to apply to all versions of Reality Fracture booster packs, meaning that even Magic's expensive Collector Boosters will include the matching pairs. Wizards of the Coast even revealed that the same rule will apply for special versions of the new Echoed Pairs, with both Borderless versions of the cards included in the same packs.

The inclusion of Echoed Pairs comes as Wizards of the Coast is giving fans plenty of different pairs to collect. Reality Fracture will include 30 different Echoed Pair cards across 15 different pairings for fans to collect, featuring popular Magic: The Gathering planeswalkers such as Garruk and Karn and Enchantments like Way of the Pyromancer and Way of the Cryomancer. Wizards of the Coast also shared that every booster pack of Reality Fracture will include one of the Echoed Pairs, guaranteeing that fans will get to see many of the alternate-universe versions.

Reality Fracture's alternate universe also gives Wizards of the Coast the chance to experiment with new versions of iconic characters. The new Ghalta the Immovable provides a vastly different take on one of Magic's most iconic dinosaurs, with the mono-White Ghalta emphasizing creatures with high Toughness rather than Power. Karn, Gilded Guardian turns the classic Colorless construct in a completely different direction, using all five colors and rewarding players for having more colors among their Artifacts. Reality Fracture is scheduled to officially release on October 2.
