LEVEL-5 has delayed crime suspense RPG DECAPOLICE from its previously planned 2026 release window to 2027. It will be available for PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and PC via Steam. It will also be playable at Tokyo Game Show 2026, which will run from September 17 to 21 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan.
“DECAPOLICE takes a whole new approach to detective work with cases that unfold in a virtual world,” LEVEL-5 CEO Akihiro Hino said during today’s LEVEL-5 Vision 2026 II Dream broadcast. “Like [Professor Layton], DECAPOLICE is puzzle-based, but tells a very different story. At the heart of the story lies a great mystery, with twists and turns unlike anything we’ve done before.
Hino continued, “The game also features optional cases (Case Missions) with plenty of challenging mysteries to solve. In Decaism, you’ll investigate crime scenes recreated in a virtual world, gather evidence, and question those involved. Then, piece together what you’ve found on the Case Board and use your own deductions to identify the culprit. But it doesn’t end there! Investigation, deduction, arrest, and even battle all flow together, for a detective experience unlike any other.
“This time, we teamed up with SCRAP, creators of real escape games, and other immersive experience, to develop our case concepts. The Three Mafioso Murders case you just saw was also developed from one of SCRAP’s original concepts.
“We know it’s taking some time to get the game ready, but we’re working to deliver a truly unique gameplay experience. We’ll have more to share in the future!”
