After some rumours, Metroid Ravenous has now been officially confirmed by Nintendo during the latest Direct broadcast.
It's launching for the Switch 2 on 28th January 2027, with pre-orders now live on the eShop. Alongside this, the game's estimated file size has also been revealed. According to Nintendo, it will require 20.2GB of space to install. Keep in mind this file size could change between now and the release date.
In comparison, MercurySteam's 2021 Nintendo Switch title Metroid Dread requires 4.2GB of space. And Samus' more recent release Metroid Prime 4 Beyond requires 27.6GB of space on the Switch 2.
In Metroid Ravenous, you'll once again take control of the renowned bounty hunter, as you hunt down powerful bosses, and use Samus' newly awakened Metroid instincts to devour foes. Nintendo has also confirmed there'll be amiibo support and a special edition of the game.
