However, one of the year's most anticipated Soulslike action RPGs is only a mere few weeks away, with that game being One More Level's Valor Mortis, a first-person Soulslike game set in an alternate 19th century where Napoleon Bonaparte was never defeated.
While gamers and alternate history fans alike still have to wait till Tuesday, October 13th, for Valor Mortis to debut, One More Level is still revealing more about the game in the days leading up to its global launch, with the developer recently unveiling the game's principal voice cast featuring many actors gamers and moviegoers may recognize.
Being a first-person Soulslike, players will rarely see the face of Valor Mortis' protagonist, William, a recently resurrected British soldier of Bonaparte's Grande Armée, but gamers should immediately recognize his voice as he will be played by prolific video game voice actor James Alexander.
For over a decade, Alexander has voiced roles in dozens of video games, from background roles in 2018's Hitman 2 to supporting roles in titles like Horizon: Call of the Mountain and Dying Light: The Beast.
RPG fans may have even recently heard Alexander's voice in Rebel Wolves' debut action RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker as Coen's Manumit friend Vladimir and as the legendary Saint Mihai.
Like most RPGs, William will be guided by many NPCs found throughout Valor Mortis' war-torn and supernatural plague-ridden Europe, with one of those NPCs being The Shrike, leader of rebels fighting against Napoleon's rule in Eastern Europe, who is played by award-winning voice actress Jennifer English.
