CD Projekt Red is working with the creator of one of The Witcher 3‘s biggest graphics mods, with his work set to be officially included in the game’s upcoming remaster.
Modder HalkHogan, creator of The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project, confirmed that he has been collaborating with CDPR on the new version of the game ahead of its September 29 release on PC and consoles.
The HD Reworked Project has spent years overhauling The Witcher 3’s visuals, improving textures and models across environments, characters, creatures, equipment, and more.
Now, players won’t need to install the mod separately when the remaster arrives.
In an August 26 post on Nexus Mods, HalkHogan confirmed his involvement with CDPR and revealed the scale of the work being incorporated into the remaster.
“I am cooperating with CDPR on the Witcher 3 Remaster and my work will be officially available in the game on September 29th,” he said, adding that HDRP “will no longer be needed.”
According to the modder, almost every in-game character has been reworked alongside monsters, animals, vegetation, armor, equipment for Geralt and Roach, and a “large part” of the game’s environments.
“I’ve put a lot of effort into ensuring the highest quality,” he added.
