Destiny 2 fans rejoiced earlier this week, as Bungie announced that it wouldn't be abandoning the title as was previously thought. Instead, it's attempting to do the history of the title justice by unvaulting as much content as it can while it moves onto other Destiny projects, something that fans of the game have been wanting for a good while.
While the announcement signaled the game's revival, Bungie didn't give us much info on exactly how much content is being unvaulted or what to expect. Thankfully, we have Bungie insider Paul Tassi to start dishing out some more details, and he has claimed that Bungie intends to make all the content being unvaulted completely free, whether you bought it when it first came out or not.
In a new article on Forbes, Tassi also claims that Bungie plans to release minor updates for the game, at least up until all the game's unvaulted content is added back into the game, but stresses that this won't be some kind of live service push to revive the game.
Now, for the bad news. While we're not exactly sure what exactly is coming as part of the game's grand unvaulting, Tassi claims that neither Seasons nor Holiday Events will be included. Tassi explains that he's seen "no indications that individual activities from seasons will be brought back," but doesn't say it's impossible.
Obviously, that's a bit of a bummer, as there are pretty significant story events that take place during those Seasons that people aren't going to be able to experience outside a YouTube video, but it's possible Bungie could sort something out if there's enough fan demand. Bungie has claimed the entire unvaulting was spurred on by fan pressure, so pile a little bit more on and see what happens, I guess?
