Cheating the taxman is no joke, and it's something Geralt of Rivia is going to learn the hard way. If you've amassed over 35,000 Crowns and visit Oxenfurt's markets, then you're bound to run into the Taxman, which begins the short "The Taxman Cometh" side quest. However, depending on your answers, depends on if you may have to pay taxes or not, so we'll show you what you need to say to once again cheat the taxman.
Have you at any time engaged in the wholesale trade of rawhide in the White Orchard area?
Have you, or have you not, dealt in said pearls?
Have you ever waltzed into someone's home and taken something without their permission?
Answering "no" to at least two of these questions will allow you to avoid paying taxes. This will also reward you with the Taxpayer in Good Standing Diploma, which doesn't actually do anything, nor can it be displayed in your home at Corvo Bianco.
If you answered "yes" to at least two of these questions, then you will be given the Summons to Payment document. With this document, you must pay 1,000 Crowns to the Vivaldi Bank in Novigrad, or you will not be able to do any dealings with Vimme Vivaldi, and you can't play Gwent with him either!
