Activision have confirmed that the previous games’ Operators and weapons will carry over to Modern Warfare 4’s iteration, but they’re introducing a new toggle to only see MW4 Operators.
Operator skins have been a controversial topic in Call of Duty for years, with backlash peaking in Black Ops 6. After that, the devs scrapped Carry Forward for Black Ops 7, canceled “big brand” collabs, and promised “grounded” skins in Modern Warfare 4.
However, while the newer mainline games have committed to avoiding wacky skins, all of the old ones still exist in Warzone. To combat this, the devs will allow you to see only Modern Warfare 4 skins after the integration.
“We know some players enjoy that variety, while others would prefer Call of Duty: Warzone feel more aligned with the world of the latest release,” the devs said in a blog post.
“With the launch of the next chapter of Call of Duty: Warzone, we aim to support both player preferences,” they continued. “Starting with Season 1 of Modern Warfare 4, we’re giving players more control over how Call of Duty: Warzone looks and feels with a new Operator Skin toggle function.”
They showed off the feature, showcasing some of the more controversial skins, such as ‘Groot’ and the rat turning into Modern Warfare 4’s more grounded Operators when the toggle is on.

The Operator will change to a Modern Warfare 4 character regardless of whether the player is in your party or not, but your own Operator won’t be affected. So, even if you’ve chosen to only see Modern Warfare 4 skins, you’ll still see the Operator you picked, no matter which game they’re from.
