Rockstar Games left in a new look at the Grand Theft Auto 6 map when unveiling the collector’s edition of the game, but they’ve since scrubbed it out.
Over the last few months, Rockstar Games has ramped up the marketing campaign for Grand Theft Auto 6. At the end of June, they finally confirmed the price of the long-awaited game and opened the pre-order window, while the end of August saw them reveal an extended look at the gameplay.
With September coming to a close, the Grand Theft Auto developers revealed the collector’s edition of the game. The set, which costs $400, comes with a whole host of limited-edition collectibles, but you do have to buy a copy of the game separately.
Amongst those collectibles is a double-sided map, with Rockstar initially leaving in some clues about areas that haven’t yet been shown off.
Eagle-eyed GTA 6 fans noted that, initially, there was a cluster of islands on the left-hand side of the map. While four islands appear, only two are named in full: Sandbars and Crude Islands.
Yet, shortly after the photo hit social media, Rockstar updated the listing, removing the name tags from the islands. The outlines of the four different islands were left in, however.

Some fans questioned why Rockstar removed the names, seeing as plenty of screenshots were made. “Those names don’t even reveal anything. Rockstar is trippin for no reason,” one commented. “Too late now,” another chimed in. “It’s crazy they’re keep hiding the map,” another said.
