GTA 6 actor confirms he’s in the game after trying to keep it “secret”

Actor Stephen Root has become the first actor to confirm that they’re in GTA 6, openly talking about the role ahead of launch.

For years, Grand Theft Auto fans have been trying to dig into the characters from GTA 6, wanting to uncover the names of actors and actresses who are playing key roles. There have been a few people claiming to play Jason, but those have just been imposters. 

As Rockstar has pulled the curtain back a little with regard to characters, a few actors have been easy to spot. That includes Stephen Root, who you may know from King of the Hill, Finding Nemo, Barry, and Succession.

The 74-year-old was instantly recognized by the fan as playing Brian Heder, who appears to be a mentor for Jason. 

Well, speaking to the Associated Press on September 13, Root became the first actor to confirm that he’ll be appearing. “Yeah, you’re going to see me in that,” Root said when asked if he could talk about the highly anticipated game.

“I think, from the first rollout of GTA that they were doing almost a year ago, they had my character in there, and too many people knew me from King of the Hill and my voice, so that secret got divulged then.”

The longtime actor said he was “so happy” to be involved in the new game, calling it an “amazing thing” too.

Other actors and actresses have been linked to roles in the new Grand Theft Auto. Actress Manni L Perez has long been named as the person behind Lucia, but has not confirmed as such on any of her official social media accounts.
