The full 1.0 release of Slay the Spire 2 is still a ways off, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t a bunch of fascinating and fun secrets and Easter Eggs baked into the Early Access version for us eagle-eyed players to sniff out.
Whether it’s a little detail hidden in event artwork, a theme running through character cards, or even hidden mechanics that don’t seem obvious at first glance, Slay the Spire 2 is a deep, layered experience full of mystery and surprises. And every time I encounter something new, I feel that urge to dive right back in again!
So if you’re hungry for secrets, or nods that hint towards future content, this is the place to be!
I reckon you’ll all know this one by now, but it’s worth mentioning because it's so weird.
When you get Foul Potions from an event, you can throw one at the Merchant for some Gold! Nice! However, if you find the fake merchant and throw one of these potions, you’ll enter combat with him instead!
Winning gets you some gold, all the relics that were on sale, and, oddly enough, a rug … which doesn’t seem to do anything. Perhaps this will trigger a secret event sometime down the road when the full release comes out, who knows? It’s a super bizarre encounter, but a fun one nonetheless!
In the original Slay the Spire, you can sometimes find a relic called the Preserved Insect. When you enter an Elite encounter, the monster automatically spawns with 25% of its HP removed. It’s a super powerful relic!
