The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake doesn't launch until November 5, but someone was already playing it on Halloween.
We won't link to or embed the post here for obvious reasons, but Reddit user u/Robnaratt34 uploaded a picture of the Switch 2 home menu showing them "playing" Ocarina of Time, with photo proof in the comments featuring gameplay and dialogue. They even answered fan questions in the thread on details that Nintendo has yet to officially show off, explaining changes and what settings were present.
As for how u/Robnaratt34 got their hands on Ocarina of Time five days before everyone else, they claim to have bought a physical cartridge on the Facebook Marketplace—though how the seller obtained it remains unclear. It's possible that a third-party retailer accidentally broke the street date, as often happens ahead of major launches, though stolen stock remains a possibility given past incidents like Starfield.
Then again, breaking street date is hardly going to be Nintendo's biggest worry right now, as the first-ever Switch 2 emulator, Eden-NX2, just went public. It's already running dumped games like Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza, raising the very real possibility that the Ocarina of Time remake could be playable on PC at launch.
Eden-NX2 is understandably rough right now, with stuttering, frame rate drops, and missing textures, but Ocarina of Time on PC out of the gate will undoubtedly be a massive headache for Nintendo, a company infamously hostile toward emulation, regardless of how choppy it runs. You can't really 'spoil' a 28-year-old game, but day one emulation does rip apart the whole idea of console exclusivity.
