Konami gave a particularly chilling Silent Hill: Townfall update at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 with a murky new trailer that reveals a few celebrities in developer Screen Burn's new psychological horror game. Townfall's voice cast will include Lost star Terry O'Quinn, as well as The Odyssey actor and It: Welcome to Derry hero Jovan Adepo.
Until now, main Silent Hill games have only ever gotten close to Hollywood by stealing Christina Aguilera's 1999 Teen Choice Awards outfit for hot pink fantasy girl Maria. The cast of Silent Hill: Townfall, then, is another example of how Screen Burn is preparing to overturn Silent Hill convention.
Townfall is the first full Silent Hill title to be in first-person perspective, and the game set in 1996 features a handheld CRTV for navigating the miasmic Scottish island town St. Amelia, instead of the Silent Hill franchise's usual hissing radio that reacts to skinless monsters nearby.
I was a little annoyed by some of these franchise firsts' arbitrariness when I previewed a live demonstration of Silent Hill: Townfall earlier this summer – and, really, the game's new Gamescom trailer doesn't do much to talk me down. But there's an almost visible cloud of anxiety surrounding protagonist Simon that I want to understand better.
Simon, who wakes up in St. Amelia confused, with a cannula embedded in his hand, doesn't seem aware that he's in danger.
The Gamescom trailer shows us Terry O'Quinn's character calling Simon on the phone, instructing him breathlessly "to come back to the town and put some things to rest." A press release explains that O'Quinn plays "Richard, the enigmatic man who summons Simon back to St. Amelia and sets in motion the events of SILENT HILL: Townfall. As Simon's journey unfolds, Richard's connection to both the town and its troubled past becomes increasingly difficult to ignore."
Mewgenics and Final Fantasy Tactics actor Kezia Burrows then stars as "Zoe, a compassionate nurse whose voice reaches out to Simon through layers of static on the CRTV, urging him to 'come back to her,'" the press release continues. In the Townfall Gamescom trailer, Zoe warns that "we're all so angry," which probably isn't what Simon wants to hear as spider-legged kaiju creature emerges from the mist and thuds toward him.
