To say that the 2026 fall game release schedule is jam-packed would be a critical understatement. We’re surrounded on all sides by landmark releases leading up the proverbial drop off a cliff that is the looming release of Grand Theft Auto 6.
It’s getting to the point that anyone outside the major launches needs to play things very carefully in order to get their game noticed. For their play, the developers of the upcoming Valor Mortis, a first-person Soulslike, are opting for full transparency.
In an announcement post on the game’s Steam page, the developers at One More Level revealed the game’s launch price, the contents of its Deluxe Edition, which will include access to major story DLC, and a ballpark estimate of the game’s approximate runtime.
Following the devs’ decision back in June to bump the game’s release date forward from September to October, this announcement is an indicator that they’d like you to play their game, but they’d also like you to be sure you want to play it before you slap down the cash, given how stacked the season is.
In the announcement post, the developers revealed that Valor Mortis will have an approximate playtime of 20 hours to complete its story. They stressed their belief that their game has the chops to stand up to the multiple full-priced titles that are launching before, around, and after its planned launch date of October 13.
On that subject, the devs also revealed that the game will have a launch price of $39.99, with a Deluxe Edition available for $59.99. They noted that, in contrast to the typical practice of opening pre-orders after revealing a game’s launch price, they will not be enabling pre-orders. Only when the game is actually out will you be able to drop the cash on it.
