Razer’s Xbox 25th Anniversary collection nails nostalgia with a striking translucent green look.

Nostalgia is a powerful thing. Despite being more of a staunch PlayStation fan all my life, I'm not afraid to admit Xbox's pre-2010s marketing and Y2K-leaning aesthetic is sauced up. After all, the platform is home to generational bangers like Halo 3 and my beloved Remedy gem, Quantum Break. At Gamescom 2026, I stopped by Razer's booth to glimpse its Xbox 25th Anniversary collection, and the future is looking greener.

When it comes to Razer, I've dabbled with the BlackWidow range in the past, but ultimately settled on 8BitDo's accessories for my desktop setup. And yes, I'm writing this on its Xbox-themed lineup. That's why I'm curious to see whether Razer can outdo an existing roster - one that's not too hefty on my bank balance. I didn't get to go hands-on with the collection at Gamescom, so I can't tell you how the keyboard feels to type on or whether the earbuds sound as good as Razer claims.

What I can say is that seeing the three products together leaves a striking impression. The collection includes the BlackWidow V4 75% keyboard, Basilisk V3 Pro 35K mouse, and Hammerhead V3 X HyperSpeed earbuds, all sharing the same translucent green finish. It's a simple idea, but one that works remarkably well in person. It's not just a rehash of the Razer Phantom Green collection.

The keyboard is the star of the show for me, as I'm sure it will be for many. The classic green finish looks high quality, while the compact design leaves a little more room on your desk. There's even a dedicated Xbox button that opens the Xbox Game Bar on PC, which is a nice touch. It also comes with a padded wrist rest, while the keys can be swapped out if you fancy customizing the way it feels.

Razer turns its already familiar Basilisk design into something that looks considerably more interesting. Sitting beside the keyboard, it looks like part of a proper Xbox setup rather than a standard Razer mouse with a logo slapped on it. Its form factor is slightly more substantial than 8BitDo's Retro R8 mouse, especially if you prefer your mouse to be chunkier.

However, the Hammerhead earbuds are the most understated of the three, but perhaps the most practical if you jump between Xbox and other devices. They're wireless, work across Xbox and PC, and come with a charging case that gives you up to 35 hours of battery life. I use Nothing earbuds with my ROG Ally and Nintendo Switch 2, so I'd be curious whether they can give them a run for their money.

I'm still not convinced I need to replace my current setup, especially when my wallet is already happier with 8BitDo. But Razer is making an equally strong case for Xbox nostalgia. Seeing this collection in person, that translucent green aesthetic is far more convincing than it has any right to be, and for Xbox's 25th anniversary, I'd say Razer has nailed the look.
