With Dragon Ball Super confirmed to return in October 2026, the hype-train is firing on all cylinders. After an untimely hiatus in 2018, fans of the iconic franchise spent years waiting for any news of its return. This wait was made even more excruciating in 2024, when the legendary creator of the series, Akira Toriyama, unfortunately passed away, signalling a hiatus for the manga as well.
However, before this pause in the narrative, the manga continued the story from the Tournament of Power, revealing many incredible new heroes and villains who existed on the highest possible levels of power. As such, Dragon Ball Super's return is set to bring with it the fastest hero that we have ever seen so far, so let's take a look at who this could be.
In the Tournament of Power, a brand-new avenue for strength and transformations was revealed, which saw Goku awaken the legendary technique of the Angels of the multiverse, called Ultra Instinct. Functionally, it is referred to as the greatest Martial Arts technique of all time as it allows the user's body to evade danger on its own without them having to think about it.
Because of this, it opened a bunch of new paths to power for the heroes, with Vegeta then achieving the same level of power through his Ultra Ego state and Broly doing so with his Full Powered Super Saiyan form. Due to this, Gohan and Piccolo were left to reach such heights, which they both ended up doing during the events of the Super Hero arc.
Although Piccolo's strength in his new Orange Piccolo form was absolutely incredible, it was Gohan who truly stole the show with his Beast form as it increased his overall power by such a huge margin that many believe him to now be even above Ultra Instinct Goku. The major thing that stood out about this form was Gohan's immense speed, which allowed him to effortlessly blitz Cell Max before the monster could even figure out what he was looking at.
This speed was further shown in the subsequent training arc in the manga, where Gohan, Trunks, and Goten were taken to the planet of Beerus to see what they had learned over the years. This resulted in a friendly sparring match between Goku and Gohan were the Saiyans each used their most powerful form.

The resulting fight was not only incredible to witness, but it was also considerably eye-opening in terms of breaking down the way things stand in terms of the power hierarchy. However, the main highlight came towards the end, when Gohan finally took his power to its limit, bringing forth such blinding speeds that he managed to supersede the auto-dodge capabilities of Mastered Ultra Instinct.
