In just a few short hours, we’ll have seen GTA 6 gameplay – and not the kind uploaded unscrupulously by an anthropomorphic, crypto currency obsessed leek.
But in the hours prior to Rockstar’s big Netflix coming out party, glossy magazine Dazed has an exclusive behind-the-scenes on the biggest PS5 game to date.
While it’s largely light on details, it does include a few new facts that I was interested to learn about.
Obviously, this is just the appetiser before tomorrow’s big GTA 6 Extended Look, which will air first on Netflix. You can find out when and where to watch that through here.
Reading through the Dazed article, a big theme that stuck out to me is how Rockstar is balancing realism with the kind of chaos GTA is known for.
I think that’s probably going to be the ultimate challenge for the game, because it sounds like it’s leaning hard into the life sim elements here, but some people will just want to get a rocket launcher and blow the entire city up.
I’d expect tomorrow’s big reveal to explore both possibilities and play styles, while also showcasing what kind of decisions you can make in the game and why they matter.
It’s emerged today that some content creators also visited Rockstar’s headquarters in Scotland recently, so expect tons more information to emerge in the aftermath of the Netflix broadcast.
