Ace Combat 8 reviews are already out, and so we already know that flight combat game is one of the better new game releases of the year. Reviews on the other upcoming PS5 games will have to wait, but we know that Enshrouded is a co-op survival game that has already earned high praise on PC, so it should be a safe bet. The Wolf Among Us Remastered is also likely an easy slam dunk, as it's an enhanced version of an already-great game.
As far as completely brand-new releases go, it's hard to pick which new PS5 October 2026 release is the most exciting. Valor Mortis is a promising and budget-friendly soulslike, while Castlevania: Belmont's Curse marks the triumphant return of one of gaming's most beloved franchises.
