Reports have been coming in that retailer Very has cancelled a bunch of pre-orders for Metroid Ravenous Special Edition, priced at £99.99.
We've had a few folks reach out to confirm this, and indeed, the same has happened to at least one of us here too. A quick search online indicates that a significant number of people have been affected.
An email provided by Very simply states the following:
"Unfortunately, we're unable to supply the item(s) you ordered below:
X0XVL - Metroid Ravenous - Special Edition - Nintendo Switch 2"
No explanation has been provided, so we've reached out to Very to hopefully obtain some context as to why this has happened. It's likely that pre-orders have simply exceeded the allocated stock.
Needless to say, if you had a pre-order with Very that has now been cancelled, you'll want to keep an eye out for restocks in the future. Given that the Special Edition comes with an amiibo, we have to imagine that Nintendo will provide more stock ahead of release, but who knows.
Metroid Ravenous is scheduled to launch on Switch 2 on 28th January 2027.
