We’ve all had those moments where things get out of hand, and suddenly the entire police force is chasing you across Los Santos! If you're in the middle of a mission or you just want the manhunt to end, then you're going to need to know the fastest ways to remove your wanted level in GTA 5 without the use of cheats.
The simplest way to get rid of your wanted level is to escape the cops' line of sight. For that, you should get into a vehicle and try to get away from the police. You can see the cops and their search area on your minimap, so your goal is to put some distance between yourself and them without being spotted.
I really like using the railway tunnels to lose the cops. Hills can also help you break their line of sight. Once you are hidden for long enough, the wanted stars will start disappearing, and once they've stopped flashing and they're removed from the HUD, you will be in the clear.
You can also use Los Santos Customs to get rid of your wanted level in GTA 5. However, there's an important catch. You need to enter the shop without the police seeing you go inside. If they see you entering, you won't be able to use the shop to lose your wanted level. If your mini-map is flashing red and blue, the police can currently see you.
First, you will have to break the police's line of sight and make your way to Los Santos Customs. Once you are safely inside, choose a customization option for your vehicle. I changed my car's color, and my wanted level disappeared after leaving the shop. This is a useful option if you are already close to Los Santos Customs and don't want to spend too much time hiding from the police.
If you are playing GTA Online, there's also an easy way to lose the cops by calling Lester. Open your phone, go to Contacts, and select Lester. You can then choose the option to remove your wanted level for a fee, or for free if you've completed The Doomsday Heist. However, this setting is not always available and is mostly restricted to free roam sessions, not missions.
