These next games all feature excellent single-player FPS campaigns that run under 10 hours on average. That makes them perfect for breezing through in a weekend, so you can enjoy your gaming hobby without neglecting your life.

Look, I'm not about to tell you that Trepang2's narrative will change your life or anything, but sometimes the beauty of an FPS isn't that it tells a fantastic story. Sometimes, all you want is for a game to hand you a gun that's way too strong and let you use it to blow away nameless bad guys and weird monsters in a way that's reminiscent of an action movie. If that's the kind of game that's calling to you, then Trepang2 is the game you want to play.
Remember the unbelievable feeling of F.E.A.R.'s perfectly-designed shotgun and its slow-mo mechanic working in tandem? Trepang2 is going for that exact same feeling, and it mostly nails it, shotgun and all. While it can't quite match Monolith's FPS horror masterpiece, it gets pretty close, and delivers it in a 5-and-a-half-hour campaign. If you want to do the side missions as well—which are just timed, wave-based combat encounters—it might take you closer to 8 hours. That's still more than doable over a weekend, and it'll be an action-packed weekend to boot.
Darkwatch is an underrated gem from the PS2 era that had the legs to be a franchise, but never quite earned enough mainstream attention. Still, this cowboys and vampires (and vampire cowboys) FPS horror romp is a great time, with cool supernatural abilities and punchy, satisfying gunplay (especially from the Blackfish Carbine, which doles out some glorious headshots).
Not that the story in Darkwatch is bad or anything, but you're probably here for the badass cowboys and cool monsters, and this is not a game looking to deprive you of that in favor of a cutscene. Its 6-hour campaign is easy to clear through in a weekend, and probably won't take you more than a couple of sittings to complete. Even if you plan to complete all the extra content, it won't take you more than 8 hours to roll credits.
