We were just a few weeks away from Rayman Legends Retold launching on Switch 2 on 1st October, but the game has been delayed at the eleventh hour.

As shared in an announcement post on social media, the Rayman dev team at Ubisoft Montpellier revealed that it is pushing back the 2.5D platformer's release to 3rd December, "to make sure every detail gets the care it deserves".

The new release date means that the game hurdles the month of Zelda and GTA, and will instead land just in time for the holidays.

To make up for it, the dev teased that we'll get our next look at the remake in a new game overview trailer on 22nd September — so that's something to look forward to.

We've got the full delay message below:

Rayman Legends Retold will release on December 3rd.

While the game has officially gone gold, we have decided to take extra time to make sure every detail gets the care it deserves.

In the meantime, we can't wait for you to see what we've been working on, starting with a Game Overview trailer on September 22nd. That same day, a selection of creators and press will share fresh hands-on impressions.
