Pokemon GO developer Scopely Explore has announced that October's Community Day will put Zorua in the spotlight. Pokemon GO Community Days give players an increased chance of finding one specific Pokemon in the wild during a set period of time. Each event offers several in-game bonuses for participating, but the biggest is that players have an increased chance of finding Shiny Pokemon.
The Twilight Trails season began in early September, and the dates for three Pokemon GO Community Day events were announced prior to the start. A Community Day Classic event focused on Gible took place on September 12. The only date left on the schedule without any additional details is a Community Day on Saturday, November 21. Twilight Trails will come to an end on December 1, and no information has been revealed about the Community Day schedule for the following season. Pokemon GO tends to host a December event focused on all the Pokemon that appeared in Community Days throughout the year, but it remains to be seen if that will be the case for 2026 as well.
In August, dataminers discovered plans for a Pokemon GO Community Day focused on Zorua. The game's developer has now confirmed a Zorua Community Day will take place on Saturday, October 10 from 2 to 5 PM local time. Players that evolve Zorua during the event or up to four hours after will receive a Zoroark that knows Sucker Punch as a Fast Attack. Other bonuses include triple XP and double Candy on catches, while players over level 31 will have a doubled chance of receiving Candy XL. Incense used during the event will last for three hours, and Lure Modules will last for one hour.
During February's Pokemon GO Community Day event, Vulpix and its Alolan regional variant were both featured. The developer isn't always consistent about putting regional variants in Community Day events, though. Zorua has a Hisuian regional variant, and that will not appear during October's Community Day event. Instead, players should only expect to see the traditional version of Zorua, which debuted in the Unova region from Pokemon Black and White.

Zorua has a unique spawn in Pokemon GO, appearing on the game's map as the player's Buddy Pokemon. As a result, players will only "see" Zorua on the map if they put a Zorua as their Buddy Pokemon. It's possible Scopely Explore decided to leave the Hisuian version of Zorua out of this event to avoid confusion among players. It's easy to tell the difference between a Vulpix from Kanto and Alola on the map, but since both versions of Zorua copy the Buddy Pokemon, it could have overcomplicated the event.
In addition to Shiny Zorua, Pokemon GO players will want to look for a version with a special background during October's Community Day. On October 10, from 2 to 10 PM local time, Zorua will also appear frequently at PokeStops that have an active Lure Module. The Zorua that appear will have the same Shiny and Special Background frequency rates they would during the Community Day hours, which means players who can't take part during the event's three-hour window can also take advantage of this option for an extra five hours after.
