Unlocking achievements is always a gratifying experience, but in Valheim, you can potentially lock your character or anyone in your world from earning achievements if you've used cheats or installed mods. This is to be expected, of course, but if you really want to earn achievements despite having such modifiers enabled, you can do so by using a comically long command in the Valheim developer console.
The code you need to use is yesiuseddevcommandsbutiwantmyachievementsanyway. Yes, that's the actual thing — Patch 1.0.12 for the Steam version of Valheim added this console command for players who want to keep earning achievements despite the initial block caused by activating dev commands.
You can copy-paste this code into your dev console if you don't want to type it in manually.
If you're reading this, then I'm sure you already know how to cheat in Valheim. But, if you're new and want to try console commands out yourself, you'll need to go to the settings menu and toggle the Enable Console option on. Once that's done, open the developer console by pressing the F5 key.
To enable cheats in Valheim, type devcommands, then press Enter. You'll get a warning the first time you do this, and if you're alright with the consequences, enter devcommands again.
Toggling devcommands will enable the use of cheats via the console, including things like god for immortality, fly to make your character zoom across the map, or spawn to make things magically appear in front of you. There's also the debugmode command that removes build costs and requirements, allowing you to build anything from anywhere. Enter debugmode in the console, then press the B key to toggle it.
Apart from mods and console commands like the ones mentioned above, the Hammer Mode option under the World Modifiers menu during world selection will prevent you from earning certain achievements in Valheim. Howeve, Hammer Mode counts as a temporary cheat, which means you'll be able to earn achievements again once you disable it.
Speaking of World Modifiers, there are a couple of achievements/trophies that can only be unlocked by playing the game on Hard mode.
