Escape from Tarkov developer, Battlestate Studio, is launching a publishing arm, looking for anything that's “too risky” for others.
Battlestate Games, the studio behind Escape From Tarkov, has announced that it's launching a publishing arm dedicated to bringing "detailed, uncompromising, hardcore, and immersive ideas to life - to make hardcore live forever."
Battlestate Games Publishing, as it will be known, is still in its early stages, but the company has already put out a call for pitches. The publisher isn't pigeonholing itself, either, and will "consider projects across any genre, single-player or multiplayer, on any platform and in any setting."
The idea here, according to BSG, is to seek projects that "other publishers have called too ambitious, too niche, or too risky - the ideas that don't fit a conventional pitch deck." Along with giving those on the outer edge of gaming a chance, it also promises to allow those devs to retain 100% of their IP, giving them total freedom to bring their vision to life.
The publisher is now accepting submissions via this email address - projects at any stage of development, from early concept to already shipped titles, can apply. If you're reading this and you think that might be you, it's worth a shot.
Anyone who has brushed up against EFT will know just how uncompromising that game is. It isn't for everyone, and that's what makes it so special - the core fans are a dedicated bunch, so the fact that the studio behind it is dedicating resources to bringing more games like it to the fore should be incredibly welcome news. Watch this space; we'll see what Battlestate Games Publishing cooks up.
