Sony and Lego teased an original PlayStation replica set that would let someone build a PS1 console with dioramas inside during the September 2026 State of Play presentation. Now the official site updated with information and pricing. It will cost $179.99 when it launches on October 4, 2026, though people who are Lego Insiders will be able to buy it directly from the company a few days early on October 1, 2026. It follows recent Sega Genesis and Pokemon sets.
The PlayStation will be made up of 1,911 pieces. It lets someone build the full console (with opening lid), one controller, and two dioramas based on Ape Escape and Gran Turismo. If someone presses the button to open the lid, you can see both settings based on the games inside. The controller can be displayed alone or have its connector plugged into the replica of the system. Likewise, the dioramas can be removed by pulling them out from the left and right sides of the system. No exclusive Lego Minifigs are included.

As for the PlayStation pricing, it’s fairly typical when it comes to Lego console and handheld replica kits. The Game Boy goes for about $60. The Sega Genesis controller tends to be around $55, while the replica of the full console costs $40. While the Lego NES originally appeared for $270, it is now retired and costs far more via resellers. The Atari 2600 replica is in a similar situation. The most expensive currently available set is the Pac-Man arcade replica, which would run someone about $350.
The Lego PlayStation console replica will debut on October 4, 2026, though members of the Insiders program can place orders on October 1, 2026.
