Out of all the mortal characters ever shown in the Dragon Ball franchise, the various fusions tend to exist at the very top of the general power hierarchy. Born from the amalgamated strength of two already powerful characters, the fusions boast strength far greater than either of their constituents, mostly because they receive a further boost once they fuse.
As such, the debate about the strongest Dragon Ball fusion has existed for decades, with fans being torn between Vegito and Gogeta, though the Broly movie confirmed Gogeta to be the superior fusion between the two. However, most fans believe an even stronger fusion is coming to the franchise, so let's take a look at who this could be.
Gogeta has actually been a part of the franchise for decades, originally debuting in 1995's Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn film. However, just like most other Z films, this one wasn't canon, so the fusion wasn't officially made a part of the main story until 2018's incredible Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie, which takes place right after the Tournament of Power in canon.
In this movie, Goku and Vegeta were forced to merge in an effort to finally put down Broly's rampage, since the Saiyan's innate potential and strength was the greatest that their race had ever seen, leading to him continuously adapting and getting stronger by the minute, though he did so at the cost of his own sanity. This power made him even stronger than the heroes, forcing them to merge into Gogeta, who, in his Super Saiyan Blue form, manhandled Broly without even conceding a single hit.

The debate among the community always put Vegito as the stronger of the two fusions since Goku mentioned that Trunks needed to bring down his power level to match Goten when they were about to fuse into Gotenks. Because of this, many fans felt that it implied that the same was done for Gogeta despite it never being mentioned, which they felt ultimately brought down his overall power compared to Vegito, who was born through a merger via the Potara Earrings.
However, the Broly film has erased this caveat. Instead, the script seems to have flipped regarding the stronger fusion, since Vegito's time limit is decreased if the power output is too great for the Potara Earrings to handle, whereas the Metamoran Fusion allows for a stable 30-minute fusion regardless of the power output. Additionally, fans believed Vegito's Rival Boost was what made him stronger, but Gogeta proved that he also gets an additional boost on top of the Saiyan's power merger, making it so both he and Vegito are equal in strength, but the stability of the Fusion Dance makes Gogeta the superior fusion overall.
Putting Frieza aside, there are no characters in the entire franchise who have shown as prodigious levels of innate power as Gohan and Broly. Although Goku and Vegeta are obsessed with training and working hard to achieve their goals, these two are the exact opposite, since they don't train as much but can reach the greatest levels of strength in the universe through their potential.
