Publisher Ubisoft has announced Rainbow Six Tactics, putting its long-running series into a brand new genre.
As the name suggests, the game is a turn-based strategy game, cut from the same cloth as the likes of XCOM.
In fact, it really does look quite similar to XCOM, only you're battling other humans instead of an alien invasion.
You command four Team Rainbow operators on a variety of missions, moving each of them by turn to get the upper hand on the enemy.
Between missions you'll go back to a central hub, where injured team members can recuperate, you can unlock and equip better gear, and obviously pick the next excursion.
The game features 15 operators players may recognise from Rainbow Six: Siege, each one with their own unique abilities, skill trees, and loadouts.
It seems like a sensible spin-off that makes perfect sense to me.
It's due out in 2027 on PS5. Are you interested in Rainbow Six Tactics? Tell us in the comments section below.
