The Pokémon Company has already revived FireRed & LeafGreen for the Switch this year, and now rumours about Ruby & Sapphire making a return have reportedly been reignited.
As highlighted by Kotaku, an official Japanese Pokémon account on social media, known as Poké Times, has shared a "suspiciously high-definition video" of the Game Boy Advance titles, showing "fan-favorite Wingull, Peeko, chasing Mr. Briny" around a table.
This 30-second clip, which also notably lines up with the Switch record limit, has now apparently convinced some fans that ports of the third-generation titles are on the way to the Switch in the near future. Official Pokémon accounts, such as this one, apparently "never post emulated footage", either.
If you're not already on board with this, to add some fuel to the rumour, a datamine of the FireRed and LeafGreen Switch emulator earlier this year supposedly revealed support for Sapphire, Ruby (and Emerald) ROMs.
Pokémon kicked off its 30th anniversary celebrations in February of this year with the release of FireRed & LeafGreen on Switch. There haven't been any official announcements about Ruby & Sapphire returning, but it would be a fun way to round out the anniversary.
