It didn't take long for Crimson Desert to get new stuff. During today's State of Play, developer Pearl Abyss unveiled Charting the Unknown. This is the game's first post-launch DLC, and it's set to arrive 15th October.
Charting the Unknown brings a new set of story missions to Crimson Desert. Kliff, Oongka, and Damiane set on an adventure that takes the trio deeper into the continent of Pywel. We've known since June that Crimson Desert would get DLC at some point, so it's nice to see it revealed today and that it's not too far off.
Today's trailer also offers a first look at the homesteading and home-building features, and what looks to be a marriage proposal and romance feature.
Charting the Unknown is available to pre-order now, with the Charter's and Charter's Light Diving sets as your pre-order bonus. The DLC announcement comes hot on the heels of Crimson Desert's Enhanced free upgrade. Enhanced bundles all previously-released patches, alongside some new skills, story enhancements, localisations in multiple new languages, a revamp to the way characters earn and quip skills and more.
Not shown today, for obvious reasons, is Crimson Desert's in-development Switch 2 version, which the developer announced in August. Pearl Abyss also said at the time it's exploring multiplayer and live service models for the franchise.
