If you're planning to revisit Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed when it launches for the Switch 2 next month and happen to be an existing owner of this title on the original Switch, THQ Nordic has shared some welcome news.
In an official FAQ for the game, the company says Switch 1 owners will get the Switch 2 upgrade for free. So if you purchased this title during the previous generation, you won't have to fork out any extra coin for it. This will also apply to both digital and physical owners. As Mickey would say, "hot dog! hot dog!"
Here's the official FAQ, with instructions about how to go about redeeming the Switch 2 version:
Can Switch 1 version owners upgrade to the Switch 2 version for free:
"Both digital and physical owners will be able to receive the upgrades of the Nintendo Switch 2 version through a free patch on their Nintendo Switch 2 console.
"To do so, insert your Nintendo Switch 1 cartridge into your Nintendo Switch 2 and install the game (and DLC, if you own it), or download and install your digital Nintendo Switch 1 version on your Nintendo Switch 2. Then, download and install the upgrade patch."
The same FAQ also notes how Epic Mickey: Rebrushed on the Switch 2 will be available physically "as a Game Key Card, but not as a full cartridge version".
