Resident Evil 2 has seen some pretty cursed mods over the years, like Pennywise and Mr. DMX, but this might be my favorite yet. Someone has taken Bryan Hodukavich and given him the full gloriously low-poly PSX treatment.
Using a model designed by X user mindnumb_opus, modder D0ct0rSauce replaced Leon's '98 costume with a PSX-style Bryan. And weirdly enough, he doesn't look completely out of place.
It can easily be installed with Fluffy Mod Manager and is compatible with any other mod you can think of, so long as it doesn't also replace Leon's '98 costume. There are even ray-tracing and non-ray-tracing versions available, so you can decide just how glossy you want Bryan to be.
As far as I can tell, this is the only mod to add Bryan to any of the Resident Evil games so far, but considering fans have figured out how to swap out costumes in the original games, I'd love to see this Bryan model inside the actual classics. It'd be amazing to explore Raccoon City in the original (and vastly superior) Resident Evil 3 with Hodukavich, like glimpsing back at some long-forgotten Raccoon City spin-off that never materialized.
Though, again, the movie only just came out 9 days ago. I'm sure we'll see plenty of fun mods inspired by Zach Cregger's work in the coming weeks and months. Maybe some ambitious modders will even try their hand at adding some of the monsters from the film, though that's a little more work than swapping out alternate costumes.
If you do want another Resident Evil mod pulled from the movies, there is an Alice skin for the Resident Evil 3 remake thanks to DarknessRvaltier. I know, I know, they're awful. But they were my intro to the series, so I have a soft spot, and I gotta admit, I'm tempted to replay the remake just to try this mod out.
