I can’t speak much to the BrokenLore franchise as I personally haven’t played any of them, but I do know there are several different instalments already available on the PS Store.
Miki-chan, an anime AI assistant, is apparently introduced as part of the story in BrokenLore: DON’T LIE.
And in the upcoming game BrokenLore: MIKI-CHAN, she’s going rogue and becoming the antagonist.
This is fascinating to me, because the blend of art styles is just absurd.
For all intents and purposes, the environments in BrokenLore: MIKI-CHAN are fairly realistic – but you’ll find yourself up against a schoolgirl who looks like she’s just stepped out of a slice-of-life anime.
“Set in a Japanese school, face Miki-chan, a virtual AI assistant who becomes increasingly jealous, possessive, and obsessive,” the blurb reads.
“Explore a distorted school simulation, use the Rewriter to alter reality, and uncover a new piece of the mystery behind BrokenLore.”
All of the past BrokenLore games have looked, in my opinion, pretty rote and predictable – but this one at least seems a touch more creative with its unusual antagonist.
