Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is officially on its way to a new platform after Warhorse Studios issued an announcement about the upcoming release, which is planned for 2027. The move will finally bring Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 to a brand-new audience of players.
Warhorse Studios' Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 was one of the most critically acclaimed games of 2025, but was only released initially on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The open-world RPG, which lets players explore the medieval Kingdom of Bohemia, was nominated for Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2025, eventually losing the award to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
During the most recent Nintendo Direct, it was finally confirmed by Warhorse Studios that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's Royal Edition is officially launching on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. This includes all the existing DLC packs for the game, giving players the complete Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 experience. No further release window was given beyond next year.
The natural question for many now will be about its performance. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 features a stunning, vast open world, so there will certainly be some concerns about how the Nintendo Switch 2 will be able to handle the game. The performance shown in the trailer doesn't exactly seem to be buttery smooth (at least in some of the clips), and with no technical information available, players will have to wait to see how it plays when it releases next year.

The original Kingdom Come: Deliverance was available on the Nintendo Switch, so it's cool to see the sequel come to the Switch 2, too. And given the fact that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 was a big success on its existing platforms, it's of little surprise to see it expand to even more players. Nintendo has focused a lot more on bringing third-party titles to the Switch 2, more so than in previous generations, and KCD2 feels like a natural fit with this goal in mind.
It has already been revealed that Warhorse Studios is developing a new Kingdom Come game, alongside a Middle-earth title. A few months back, it seemed that the title of the new Kingdom Come game was leaked via a trademark, although Warhorse has yet to confirm this one way or another.
