Ms. Marvel actor Iman Vellani has revealed her wishlist for reshaping the MCU.
Given a hypothetical scenario of what she would do if she took over from Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, Vellani said she would go back to basics (via Revenge Of).
"I'm such a sucker for simple stories. Universe-ending stakes are exciting, and they're fun, but you've got to build up to that, and you've got to earn it," Vellani said. "I would go back and like focus on genre and smaller characters in smaller movies."
Speaking specifically about her own MCU character, Vellani – who last appeared as Kamala Khan in The Marvels – would keep Ms. Marvel in her own bubble, with her own cast of characters.
Vellani explained, "I think if we're talking about Ms. Marvel, that's a character who really succeeds in her own world. They've been trying to bring her into the X-Men for so long in the comics now, and I think that's fun and I love seeing her interact with any other superhero, but I just love her own world, and I love her own cast of characters… and the way Kamala sees the world – I want that just amplified through the filmmaking."
To that end, Vellani wants "less team-ups."
While it's not quite a traditional team-up, Marvel is coming off the back of a wild success in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which sees Tom Holland's Spidey join forces with Jon Bernthal's Punisher.
