While the grand debut of the Beastmaster Limited Job and the finale of Dawntrail's MSQ is fresh on many players' minds in Final Fantasy XIV, there's now even more to keep the community plenty busy with yet another Moogle Treasure Trove event, albeit with a fun twist this time around.
As usual, there's a mountain of rewards to obtain from the event, and the spotlight goes to the vibrantly-colored Uolon Mount.
The Moogle Treasure Trove is a large-scale event that happens at certain intervals throughout an expansion's patch cycle in Final Fantasy XIV, and thus happens a handful of times a year (compared to other seasonal events that come along just once a year). It usually comes around during longer periods between patch updates, to help give players a community-based incentive to stay active until new patch content rolls through.
What Moogle Treasure Trove events are best known for is their literal treasure trove of rewards you can earn by completing the event's rotating objectives. They traditionally consist of one reward that's entirely unique to the event (such as a one-of-a-kind earring accessory) along with a laundry list of various other rewards that already exist in-game. These include Mounts, Minions, Triple Triad Cards, Orchestrion Rolls, Furnishings, Riding Maps for different areas, and more.
The Moogle Treasure Trove event is a convenient way to get certain mounts that can only otherwise be unlocked by completing Extreme Trials or Savage Raids! If you're missing certain Trial mounts, for instance, it's a great way to fill those gaps without having to do the farm for Totems.
To get these rewards, you need to complete the event's objectives using a combat job of your choice, which will in turn provide you with Irregular Tomestome currency (or as the community calls them, "Mogtomes"). You can use these Tomestones to exchange for rewards with the Itinerant Moogle NPC in each major city, including Limsa Lominsa, Ul'dah, and New Gridania.
Different rewards cost different amounts of Irregular Tomestones, and certain duties or objectives will reward different amounts of them as well. These objectives are divided into four main categories, which you can view the Mogpendium:
As their name suggests, Weekly Objectives reset every week during the Moogle Treasure Trove event on Tuesday. Minimog Challenges also reset weekly, while Standard Objectives do not change and can be completed repeatedly for Irregular Tomestones. The Ultimog Challenge lasts for the duration of the event and thus does not change.
